Texas Christ Fellowship
"God is in search of a people that will trust Him with all of their heart ... a people He can trust to come into their lives with the Kingdom of God."
Welcome
We gather every Sunday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 301 W Avenue F, Belton, TX 76513. We welcome families to worship together, believing that both children and adults are enriched by sharing the service experience. We’d love for you to join us!
About
Texas Christ Fellowship began in a living room in July 1981, when four believers gathered with the simple conviction that God would meet with them as they worshiped Him and sought to do His will. Word spread quickly, and soon the living room meetings grew into a vibrant fellowship marked by heartfelt worship, biblical teaching, and deep unity in Christ. From the very beginning, our church has been interdenominational—welcoming believers from many Bible-believing Christian backgrounds, including Methodist, Baptist, Church of God, Greek Orthodox, Catholic, and others who hold to the authority of Scripture and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our unity is built not on overlooking differences in essential truth, but on our shared faith in Christ and commitment to His Word.Over the years, God has faithfully led our congregation through seasons of growth, change, and renewal, always keeping us grounded in His Word and dependent on His Spirit. For more than four decades, we met in homes and rented spaces, trusting God’s timing for a permanent home. Today, we are grateful to be worshiping together in our own church building here in Belton, Texas—a long-awaited answer to prayer. We look forward with anticipation to what God will continue to do in and through our church family as we seek His presence, proclaim His Word, and join Him in the work of His Kingdom. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, salvation is found in Christ alone, and the church is called to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit. Pastors
Following the passing of TCF’s longtime pastor, Rev. Oliver Hogue, the church entered a season of transition and prayerful discernment. During this time, Travis Howell (pictured left) and JP Richardson (pictured right) felt called to step into leadership, using the gifts God had entrusted to them to serve the body of Christ.Travis currently serves as a pastor and music minister. A Central Texas native, he holds a B.A. in English from Texas A&M University–Central Texas and a M.A. in Technical Communication from Texas State University. Before entering full-time ministry, he worked in technical support at VMware, providing dedicated service to JPMorgan Chase. He served as a bivocational pastor for nearly three years before sensing a clear call to full-time ministry. Travis is now pursuing his Master of Divinity at Baylor University while continuing to pastor TCF. He enjoys reading, playing pickleball, and spending time with his wife and their two young children.JP serves as a pastor at Texas Christ Fellowship, where he brings a deep love for the Church and a steady commitment to shepherding people well. Coming from a long line of pastors, JP has always sensed a call to ministry—even while spending the early part of his career in the banking industry. That call eventually led him to leave the corporate world and step fully into pastoral ministry. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from West Virginia State University and an M.A. in Political Science and International Relations from West Virginia University. When he’s not serving at the church, JP enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children. Whether he’s playing sports, reading, or just enjoying quality time with his family, JP brings the same intentionality and heart he offers in ministry.
Missions
Texas Christ Fellowship is honored to support the ministry of Rev. Dr. Warren Fornah in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Through his deep commitment to serving the most vulnerable, Rev. Dr. Fornah provides food, clean water, and medication to those in need within his community. Together with his wife, he also leads a vocational school for girls at risk of exploitation—offering training in trades like sewing and hairdressing to help them build safe, sustainable futures. In addition to this vital outreach, Rev. Dr. Fornah serves as president of the Evangelical College of Theology in Sierra Leone, where he trains pastors and church leaders to proclaim the gospel across the region. TCF has partnered with Rev. Dr. Fornah for many years, supporting his work through faithful prayer, a regular Christmas offering, and financial assistance when other needs arise. As the church enters a new season of leadership, its commitment to global missions remains strong, and the ongoing work in Sierra Leone continues to reflect that calling.
Statement of Beliefs
The calling of Texas Christ Fellowship is to find and do the will of God through the leadership of His Holy Spirit in compliance with the whole counsel of His written Word. Our mission can be summed up in the following excerpt:"God is in search of a people that will trust Him with all of their heart, a people who will totally and wholly depend upon Him, a people that will do always His will in the Word, in the leading of the Holy Spirit, that will do always what He wants and will love Him with all their heart. That will obey everything that He wants them to do, a people He can trust to come into their lives with the Kingdom of God."This pursuit defines our culture as a church. We long to be that kind of people—a people He can trust with His presence, His word, and His purposes. We are rooted in the historic Christian faith and the authority of Scripture. Our statement of faith and code of doctrine includes the following:The Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14). These three are coequal, coeternal, and one in essence—distinct in person yet perfectly united in will and purpose (John 10:30; John 17:21). God the Father is the source of all life (Acts 17:25), the Son is the Savior of the world (John 4:42; 1 John 4:14), and the Holy Spirit is the active presence of God within and among His people (John 14:16–17; Acts 1:8).God the Father
We believe in God the Father, the first person of the Trinity—holy (Isa. 6:3), eternal (Ps. 90:2), all-powerful (Jer. 32:17), all-knowing (Ps. 147:5), and full of love and justice (Ps. 33:5; 1 John 4:8). He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things (Gen. 1:1; Col. 1:16–17), who sovereignly rules over the universe (Ps. 103:19) and desires a personal relationship with His people through His Son, Jesus Christ (John 14:6; 2 Cor. 6:18).Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God (John 1:1–3), fully God and fully man (Col. 2:9; Heb. 2:17). He was born of the Virgin Mary (Matt. 1:23), lived a sinless life (Heb. 4:15), died on the cross for our sins (1 Pet. 2:24), rose bodily from the grave (1 Cor. 15:3–4), ascended to heaven (Acts 1:9–11), and will one day return to reign in glory (Rev. 19:11–16). He is the only way to salvation (John 14:6; Acts 4:12) and the Lord of all (Phil. 2:9–11).The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s active presence in the world (Gen. 1:2; Ps. 139:7), convicting of sin (John 16:8), drawing people to Christ (John 6:44), and empowering believers for holy living, spiritual growth, and ministry (Acts 1:8; Gal. 5:22–23). The Spirit gives gifts to the Church for the building up of the Body (1 Cor. 12:4–7) and the mission of God in the world (Matt. 28:19–20).The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired (2 Tim. 3:16), infallible Word of God (Ps. 19:7–9) and the final authority in all matters of faith and life (Isa. 40:8; Matt. 24:35). It is true in all that it teaches (John 17:17) and sufficient to guide the believer in godliness and truth (2 Tim. 3:17; Ps. 119:105).Humanity and Sin
We believe that all people are created in God’s image (Gen. 1:26–27), but through sin have become separated from God (Rom. 3:23; Isa. 59:2) and in need of salvation (Eph. 2:1–3). Apart from Christ, we are spiritually lost and unable to save ourselves (John 15:5; Rom. 5:6).Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:8–9). It involves repentance (Acts 3:19), forgiveness (1 John 1:9), regeneration by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5), and a new birth into the family of God (John 3:3–7). Salvation is available to all (1 Tim. 2:4; 2 Pet. 3:9) and must be personally received (John 1:12).Sanctification and Holiness
We believe that after salvation, God calls every believer to a life of holiness (1 Thess. 4:3–4; Heb. 12:14). Through the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit (2 Cor. 3:18), we are progressively transformed into the likeness of Christ (Rom. 8:29). We are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30), and to love our neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:31).The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:27), made up of all true believers everywhere (Eph. 4:4–6). As a local church, we are called to gather in worship (Heb. 10:25), grow in discipleship (Matt. 28:19–20), serve in love (Gal. 5:13), and go in mission (Acts 1:8). We observe the ordinances of baptism (Matt. 28:19) and the Lord’s Supper (1 Cor. 11:23–26) as acts of obedience and remembrance. The Return of Christ and Eternal Hope
We believe in the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:11; Rev. 22:12). He will bring justice to the world (Isa. 42:1–4; Rev. 20:11–15), judge the living and the dead (2 Tim. 4:1), and establish His eternal kingdom (Rev. 21:1–4). Those who have trusted in Him will live forever in His presence (John 14:2–3; 1 Thess. 4:16–17), while those who reject Him face eternal separation from God (Matt. 25:46; 2 Thess. 1:8–9).Marriage and Family
We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant instituted by God (Gen. 2:24) and affirmed by Jesus Christ (Matt. 19:4–6) as a lifelong union between one man and one woman. It is a reflection of Christ’s love for His Church (Eph. 5:25–33) and the foundation for family life and human flourishing (Ps. 127:1–5).
